January 6

Today is Epiphany!  And for those of you who may not be familiar with this term, it is the celebration of the arrival of the Magi in the Christmas story.  What few people know or don’t remember is that the kings (an undisclosed number), didn’t arrive right away.  I believe they actually arrived when Jesus was a young toddler, not an infant.  Oh, and did you know that the 12 Days of Christmas are NOT the 12 days BEFORE Christmas?  They are the 12 days from Christmas to Epiphany.  Wouldn’t it be cool to celebrate Christmas for 12 days and get/give gifts for 12 days?  Too bad our society moves on quickly from Christmas to Valentine’s Day to even bother with 12 days of Christmas! (Sidenote: I saw stuff for Valentine’s day in a store the week after Christmas.  It wasn’t even 2010 yet!)

Okay, so now that you have a little more factual knowledge to stump some of your friends, here’s my photo for the day.  Every day when I leave work, I get an amazing view of the sunset to the west and to the east…well, see for yourself!
